My Response to Jeremy Rifkins A Change of Heart about...

Jeremy Rifkin in the article A Change of Heart about Animals argues on the fact that as incredible as it sounds, many of our fellow creatures as like us in so many ways. For example, in a movie named Paulie a young girl that suffers autism gets attached to a parrot. The girl struggles to talk but she just cant. Time passes by and then the girl starts talking because the parrot helped her. An incident happened so the little girls parents decide to let the parrot go. The parrot ends up in an animal testing lab but somehow he managed to escape. The parrot begins to miss his owner because he formed a bond with a human being. Obviously, this proves Rifkin is right when he states that animals experience feelings like human beings.†¦show more content†¦Jonas E. Salik developed the vaccine and polio can now be prevented but it never actually states that it cures it. Therefore animal testing is not a good idea and it has no point. Many people that are against animal testing includin g me eat meat.On the contrary side asks if Should humans eat meat? According to Owen animals eat other animals so do humans. Its part of the food chain but animal testing clearly is not. Animal testing is one of the main reasons why animals are being extinct. Some humans use animals for clothing and thats by far the lowest point humans have come for animal cruelty. Synthetic materials can be used in place of animals skins. The argument for this is that synthetic material can be harmful for the environment but it is more harmful to extinct our animals little by little. Animals share the same right as human beings. To have a right is to have a claim or entitlement to something and to have that claim recognized by others. There are two types or rights; legal and moral rights. Legal rights are comulgated by law making part of government. Moral rights are stems from reason and worth for example life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. I believe animals share both rights because the only difference between human beings and animals is basically the ability to speak. Every single day I experience commercials about animal abuse. For example, the ASPCA commercials
